LEARN wrote the Chairs and Ranking Members of the U.S. House and Senate Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies (LHHS) Appropriations Subcommittees overseeing funding for the Institute of Educational Sciences (IES), the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Additionally, LEARN submitted a letter to the Chairs and Ranking Members of the U.S. House and Senate Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies (CJS) Subcommittees on the National Science Foundation (NSF). In these letters, LEARN advocated for increases in Fiscal Year 2023 funding for these key institutes, centers and foundations which support critical education research aimed at advancing scientific understanding of learning and development.

For the National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER): $70 million

For the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD): $2.02 billion

For the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH): $2.57 billion

For the National Science Foundation (NSF) Overall: $11 billion

For the Directorate on STEM Education (EDU): 1.37 billion

For the Directorate on Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (TIP): Robust Funding
