LEARN wrote the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies regarding Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 funding for the Institute of Educational Sciences (IES), the National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER), the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). In this testimony, LEARN advocated for increases in Fiscal Year 2022 funding for these key institutes, centers and foundations which support critical education research aimed at advancing scientific understanding of learning and development. Throughout, LEARN emphasized the importance of supporting education research in the effort to address the educational challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
