LEARN submitted comments to the Chairs and Ranking Members of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor Health and Human Service, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) and Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee regarding the Institute of Education Sciences (IES’s) Federal Register notice on May 26, 2022, regarding the decision not to run certain National Center for Education Research (NCER) grant competitions in fiscal year (FY) 2023. In the letter, LEARN noted the negative impact this decision will have on the nation’s education infrastructure and emphasized the importance of increased Federal investments for IES in FY 2023 to allow the agency to provide grant opportunities more consistently to the field.
