In Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21), LEARN requested $737.5 million for the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) to help fund research on evidence-based practices in education.
Federal Support for Education Research and Development
LEARN supports robust increases in funding for research and development from FY 2021. LEARN is currently advocating for a $70 million increase for a total of $267.9 million for research and development.
Federal Funding for Special Education
LEARN supports a substantial funding increase for the National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) and is advocating for $11.5 million increase for a total of $70 million to go towards special education research in FY 2022.
COVID-19 Emergency Relief
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, LEARN has advocated for relief funds to support evidence based practices to address learning losses in schools. In 2021, LEARN supported the $100 million provided to IES in the American Rescue Plan (ARP) to address learning losses.
